Auxiliary Corner

Hi Auxiliary members,

Hello! It’s been a long been a long hot summer and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some cooler weather. Until then, this is what’s happening in the Auxiliary.  In honor of 9/11 we be delivering desserts to McKinney fire stations. Join us on Saturday, September 8th, 9am at the Post.  Here’s how you can help. Bring in 3 desserts, for example fruit, power bars, trail mix or cookies. The desserts will be put into baskets. We will divide into teams and deliver the goodies to the stations. It’s fun and the firefighters love getting treats!

Auxiliary dues are now due. Please make sure you are current. Membership is important to us. If you know someone who hasn’t been to a meeting in a while ask them to join us. If you know someone who qualifies to become a member encourage them to become part of our wonderful post family.  Membership applications are available at the Post.  Increasing our membership makes us a stronger Auxiliary to help out our Post and most importantly our Veterans.

We have several events coming up, Jaynestown Band will be playing at the Post on September 29th at 8pm, Tailgate Cook Off in October, Bake Sales on Fish Fry night November and December, Bonham Vet’s visit and Samaritan Inn Children’s Party in December and finally, Casino Night in March. To find out more information come to our meetings!

Our next meeting is on September 9th,6:30pm at the Post. Don’t forget your membership cards. We need to see them at each of our meetings.  A great big thank you to each of you who volunteer at the Post and our events. Your service does not go unnoticed.
