March is our month to open nominations for Post Officers for the next year. Nominations will be reopened and the election will be held in April. As of now ,we are pretty well open in all positions, no one has stepped forward to volunteer. The post will not stay open without post officers. On another note, we tried to feed the McKinney Fireman in February, but no one showed. Very disappointing considering the turnout for the police and sheriff’s department.
Tuesday nights we have started shuffleboard tournaments up again, also Thursday nights we have trivia ,please support these events.
March 11th is our meeting night, starts at 6:30. March 17th we will be holding the District Commanders and Auxiliary President’s homecoming. We need volunteers to help cook and serve, also need to bring baked goods for an auction. If you can volunteer, we will be furnishing VFW Shirts, but need to know the sizes. Please contact Gary Townsend or myself.
March 23rd is our annual Casino Night, this has been much fun in the past. Lots of good prizes.
We have two VPR Ceremonies this month, the first is Kosovo Campaign and will be held on the 11th prior to our monthly meeting. The second is Somalia Operation, this will be held on 28th at 6:00 pm.
Remember our monthly meeting.
Jim “Nick” Nichols,
Hi Auxiliary members,
Well…we have several things to attend to this month starting with the District 1 Home Coming honoring Ray Richardson, District 1 Commander and Linda Harding District 1 Auxiliary President on March 17th. We will be serving lunch and we REALLY need volunteers to help set up, serve lunch and clean up. Be at the post by 10am ending around 3pm. Auxiliary members are encouraged to bring gifts, baked good (to serve and sell) and there will be raffles and auction of prizes. It should be full of fun and fellowship with our other District 1 Auxiliaries.
Casino Night, which is on March 23 at 7pm is one of the funniest events we do each year. Bring finger food to share. There will be prizes and just a lot of fun. We are looking for table sponsors. Contact Almeta Nichols with any questions.
Finally, March we will have nominations for Auxiliary Officers 2019-2020. Nominations are open and elections will be held during the April meeting.
Thank you again for being a wonderful Auxiliary and for all your help.
